The storied history of Seiko began in central Tokyo in 1881, when 22 year old Kintaro Hattori opened up his own shop selling and repairing watches and clocks. Its first wrist watch, the Laurel, debuted in 1913, and since then, the award-winning company has celebrated several milestone firsts including the launches of groundbreaking digital, diver’s, TV, quartz, solar and spacewalk models, to name a few. The introduction of the Seiko Astron in 2012, the world’s first GPS solar watch, sparked worldwide recognition as the new global standard.
